Aisha Al Souqi joined the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in July 2017 as an environmental researcher in the green development and environmental affairs department. She has been working with public, private and academia stakeholders to oversee the implementation of the UAE green agenda 2030, which is currently being assessed and updated.

She was part of the national team that developed the UAE Circular Economy policy and the National Environment policy. Also, she was part of the national team that updated the country’s national environmental data, which supported improving the UAE’s rank in the Environmental Performance Index (EPI). Recently, she developed several publications, such as the Green Business toolkit in both editions and the Green bonds and sukuk program analysis report to support ESG implementation in business and the transition to Net Zero.
