Karim El-Jisr is an effective and passionate communicator on sustainability, including conservation, development, smart cities, and climate change. He worked fifteen years in conservation management and then shifted his attention to making future cities and communities more livable and climate-proof with a people-centric focus. He is based in The Sustainable City in Dubai, an award-winning master-planned community which has become a living laboratory for future technologies and climate action.

Karim graduated from the American University of Beirut with a degree in agricultural engineering (1997) and environmental sciences (1999). In addition, he completed a course in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. A passionate speaker at international venues, Karim is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and Danish.
